Fun Quick Sketches to Watch

Sharing my Sketches

I’ve been sharing my daily charcoal portrait sketches on Instagram and my YouTube channel. Have you seen them? They are far from perfect and certainly no great works of art, but they are fun, and I love to go back and watch them come together almost like magic.

I’m doing them as part of my daily art practice, warming up and of course practicing so I improve. I’m also sharing them because they are so fun, and it helps keep me accountable. It’s a great encouragement to keep at something. Not a guarantee mind you, but every little thing helps.

I’ve just finished reading James Clear’s Atomic Habits which is just what it sounds like – how small things add up to huge results. If you haven’t read it yet I highly recommend it. It’s an easy and motivating read and helps you figure out a whole system for stepping up the habits you want to grow and diminishing the ones you want to change.

You’ll find Atomic Habits on my book list here:

I have a list of things I’m working on – so much room for improvement – and daily sketches is one of them. It’s a no-brainer for me. I love doing them. I find them really easy to do – in my own imperfect way! And I love watching them again – I think it’s like watching magic – which makes them a delight to share with you.

So here they are. I’ll keep adding to this post in the weeks/months ahead. I hope these quick videos are fun for you to watch too!
